The Sacrament of Baptism is the first of seven (7) sacraments. It is the initial welcome into the Catholic Church.
To have an infant and/or child up to the age of 6 baptized at Our Lady of Good Counsel, please contact our Baptism Coordinator,
Mary Szmutko 609-847-0796 to schedule a date and time.
Parish registration is required for all families wanting to have a child/children baptized. Parents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Class.
Godparents need to obtain a Letter of Eligibility prior to the Baptism from their home parish and have it sent to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Office.
Baptism Date and Time may be scheduled at the Baptismal Prep Class. We encourage families to have their child’s Baptism during the Sunday Mass. Ceremonies also may be scheduled following the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass. Family, friends and guests are welcome to attend.
A Certificate of Baptism will be presented to each family after the ceremony.
Baptisms for children age seven through thirteen should contact the Religious Education Office for further information.
Baptisms for people age 14 years old through adulthood who are prepared to receive the Sacrament of Baptism will participate in The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) Program where they are introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life.
Participants in the RCIA Program will attend weekly classes from October through Holy Week on Sunday mornings.
