2025 Jubilee Year

Pope Francis has announced that 2025 will be an Ordinary Jubilee year, which it is something that happens every 25 years. In the Catholic Church, a Jubilee or “Holy Year” is used to declare a special time for spiritual growth, forgiveness, and reconciliation. During this year, we will offer many opportunities, like extra times for confessions, pilgrimages, and special Masses for the Holy Year in order to re-establish a proper relationship with God, with one another, and with all creation.

The theme of the 2025 Jubilee is “Pilgrims of Hope,” and the beginning of the Holy Year will take place in Rome, with the great tradition of opening the Holy Door of Saint Peter’s Basilica by Pope Francis on December 24, 2024.

The Holy Father says that “all it takes is one good person to restore hope,” therefore, this Jubilee is an invitation to renew our hope, a hope which comes from knowing that God loves each one of us, whoever we are. So, let walk as living signs of hope for others, while we share God’s mission to create a world of justice, peace and love.
